Our 2026 Farhang Foundation Summer Fellowship in Iranian Studies was awarded to Richard Nedjat-Haiem who is completing his dissertation in Comparative Literature at UCSB. The title of his dissertation is "Pluri-Arabism: Language Change and Arab Popular Culture,” and his primary advisor is Professor Dwight Reynolds. While the project focuses on Arabic popular culture, it also engages closely with Iranian cultural history and the Iranian diaspora.
