Bio

Dr. Fariba Enteshari is a lecturer at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she teaches Persian Language and Literature. She has an M.A. in German Studies from the University of Southern California (USC), and a Doctorate in Education from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara. Her doctoral dissertation was entitled, Rumi’s Poetry: The Journey Toward Meaning and Transformation. She has taught The Mathnawi, the master epic of  Jalal al-Din Rumi, in Persian and in English for the last 20 years. Dr. Enteshari is the founding director of the Rumi Educational Center, a nonprofit and interfaith organization in Santa Barbara.
